Machine Operator – Keon Park
Vatmi Industries is an Australian Disability Enterprise that provides employment opportunities for people with a disability. Our contract packaging division located at Keon Park has an opportunity for a reliable and highly motivated Machine Operator.
Initially this role will be a twelve month posting. During your training, you will be required to work on the day shift (8am – 4.06pm), after which time you will be working from 4pm until midnight. It is envisaged that at the end of the twelve months, you will become a permanent employee.
Key responsibilities of the role include : setting up and running the form filling, doy pouch and sachet machines, performing preventative maintenance schedules and general housekeeping of the machines.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced machine operator, ideally within the food industry, with a strong mechanical aptitude, superior attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work within and supervise a small team.
You will also have a strong knowledge of HACCP or food grade environments, while a forklift licence is advantageous.

Production and Employee Support Supervisor
VATMI Industries (VATMI) employs approximately 350 employees with a disability in contract packing and recycling activities throughout Victoria. VATMI divisions include VATPAK (Keon Park, Kew and Bendigo) and Recycling (Stawell, Wangaratta and Sandhurst Enterprises Recycling Bendigo (SER). VATMI's Head Office is located in Kew.
Sandhurst Enterprises Recycling (SER) has been successfully operating in Bendigo for the past 20 years and provide real jobs for approximately 20 people with disabilities. VATMI is currently looking to appoint a Production and Employee Support Supervisor/Administrator to work with the SER operation.
Reporting to the Site Operations Manager and working closely with site staff and the broader VATMI Employee Services Team, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Implementation & maintenance of the Employee Services Program at the SER operation;
- Undertake employee attraction, recruitment & retention strategies;
- Complete annual individual development plans for each employee & recommend appropriate development activities for employees;
- Coach and induct new and existing employees;
- Facilitate the accurate and timely completion of employee wage assessments;
- Facilitate the collection of & maintenance of data required to support DMI Assessments;
- Consistently display & demonstrate the behaviours detailed in VATMI's Leadership Standard and Code of Conduct, and within organizational policies and procedures.
Applicants with tertiary qualifications in education, human resources, or disabilities studies, along with accreditation in Workplace Training & Assessment will be viewed favorably. While knowledge of, and experience within the disability sector are essential to the role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required, as this position interacts with employees who have a range of communication capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment. You will have the ability to influence outcomes and report to key decision makers in a professional manner. You will also possess a high level of maturity and the ability to work at a regional site within a complex multi site organization with matrix reporting relationships.
