VaTPaK makes a significant investment
February 25, 2010
At it's February 24 Board Meeting, Directors approved the purchase of a new Doy Pouch machine that will not only protect existing packing we complete for our clients, but also afford us the opportunity to market the machine to potential new customers.
At a cost of $450,000. the machine will have the capability of packing up to 40 pouches per minute and provide an opportunity for a number of employees to upgrade their skills and operate the machine.
Group Production Manager, Stacy Moisidis said "The requirement to purchase this type of equipment has been driven by supermarkets and their suppliers. Doy pouches are a universally accepted form of packaging in overseas markets and consumers are increasingly demanding their availability on shelves in Australian supermarkets. With an ability to reseal, product has a much longer life. The purchase of this equipment is another step in our strategy of improving the productivity and efficiency of our workforce within VaTPaK. We envisage very early customer take up of the machine, to the extent it will be operating over a couple of daily shifts within a very short period of time."
